The Top 10 Mos for Movember

Movember. The time of year when all right thinking men let the inner Village People run riot. Upper lips will be sporting the most ridiculous range of facial fuzz from the Hitler, through the rats tail, spiv, Dali, Pancho Villa to the full on Handlebar. Men justifiably get to look like dicks. Butch but dicks nevertheless. So why do we get to play around with our snot mops in Movember? Well it’s for charity, specifically to raise awareness of mens health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer. Well, I like to think Ive got the balls to do something about that, so I will be mo ing up again this year and you can support me looking totes amazeballs by sponsoring me. You’ll find a picture of previous efforts later in this post. Whilst sporting my magnificent snot mop, Mothers sheperded their children away from me and effete German gentlemen made their presence known. True story.

But in celebration of this magnificent month of Movember, we have collated what we believe to be the absolute Top 10 finest Mos in the History of the known universe. We’d like to know if you agree. Incidentally, clearly we’ve nicked some images. It’s for charity so please don’t sue us.

Sometimes talking to clients helps. Actually it helps all the time but sometimes you learn something that could be crucial to you. In the particular case, said client didn’t realise we have a rather significant amount of PPC budget under management and they had a requirement for some PPC management. That was a nice win. Nor did they realise that we develop in Magento. We’ve actually built quite a fair bit in Magento but we haven’t necessarily talked about it a lot. Why? Well, there’s been quite a fair bit in development, both using Magento Community Edition and Magento Enterprise Edition. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be launching a lot of these sites so case studies will follow. One we can talk about is for The Little Greene. We’ve worked with them for many years. It has never been just about providing a service for them, it’s been about partnering to help develop their digital business. When we started working with them, they did “a little bit” online, now they generate 7 figures in online revenue. I guess that’s a great indicator of how we work. We’re interested in the clients business and we help develop an appropriate online strategy to achieve their objectives. Then within that strategy we deploy a range of digital tactics which may include Magento development or a whole range of other tactical services.

And next week, some of the team behind Europes leading expert online marketing conference will be delivering the first of a series of quarterly briefings to the Professional Services sector in conjunction with the lovely people at Pro Manchester. The first of these briefings will address the legal sector. We will be looking at who in that sector is successfully addressing the challenges posed by digital technologies and also trying give some insight as to where the legal sector might achieve some competitive advantage, bearing in mind the looming presence of Tesco law.

Seriously you recruitment agencies, in the era of sharing, why do you still believe that you can act to a different set of rules to other businesses? You know, the ones that act with a sense of dignity and responsibility. Another thing, why do you think I should pay you 15% to 25% or more of first year salary for someone you hope to place with me when all you have done is spam? I can do spam. Why would I want to pay you £5k for the privelege of receiving your poorly targetted spam? Beats me. Show and Tell at the Banyan Tree

It seems that there are quite a few snazzy digital/creative agencies and people in and around Timber Wharf, the Boxworks and MOHO. We nod to each other in the Banyan Tree bit perhaps we don’t fully understand what each other does. Well, PushON will be putting that right. We are having a show and tell on the 13th in the Banyan Tree. Opens at 6pm. There will be a laptop and a projector. The idea is that you turn up, have 5 minutes (strict) to show what you do and then have a drink. Who knows what might come from it.

I’m hoping to see Gencia, Young and Play HQ as a minimum. If we get those, then you have some of the finest creative talent in the North West to talk to.
