Fiona Stevenson, who takes on the new role as head of mobile marketing for William Hill, had previously worked as product marketing director for EA Mobile. Prior to her time with EA Mobile, Stevenson had also served as head of MMS marketing with T-Mobile International.
Stevenson’s brief in her new role will be to expand the current level of awareness among consumers regarding William Hill’s range of mobile services. These include iPhone apps for The Racing Post, together with various betting companions including Shake-a-bet, Mobile Sportsbook, and Match Predictor.
The company has also launched a new mobile site which allows its users to participate in a choice of over 500,000 betting and gaming opportunities each week.
On top of this, William Hill is also looking to build on its current facilities for cashless betting via mobile phones.
Stevenson’s appointment comes at a time when there is currently great excitement in the air regarding the opportunities available with the continued development of the new generation of 4G smartphones.
It also marks a continued and steady progression by William Hill into new media technologies; and follows on the heels of the company’s recent revelation that whilst revenues from its 2,350 retail outlets across the UK have grown by only 2%, those from its online activities have increased by 23%.
