Big Chip Awards Manchester In Second LifeTonight is the big night. It’s the Manchester Digital Big Chip Awards. We will be there in force. It’s always a damn fine night out and we get to make fools of ourselves amongst our peer group. We also see a lot of great work get acknowledged. This year, the event is going to be broadcast via Secondlife. The shows’ host, Anthony H Wilson, has a Secondlife avatar and I’m told the presentation will be available from the Manchester Island.

However, not to be outdone, we at PushON will be broadcasting the event in our own personal way. An experiment in Social Media narrative if you like. On the right hand side of this blog, there is a side bar. This publishes the short and sweet comments of the PushON staff via Twitter. ( As I write this, Twitter is down for maintenance so fingers crossed). We will also be taking pictures via various mobile devices and uploading via Flickr which is then republished to the Blog. So, in effect, you’ll be getting a very personal flavour of the biggest awards ceremony of it’s kind outside London. Clearly, there is room for absolute humiliation here as the wine will be flowing freely. Here’s hoping judgement and good taste don’t get too much of a battering tonight!

I reckon you might have broken twitter with your excessive tweeting!

If Anyone wants to joing in with commenting the event, you need to be friends with Doobiediscoduck . Then anyone he follows will be automatically posted up here. Or to the right. Could be dangerous.

Using Twitter to drop in comments to a table full of people who are picking up tweets via mobile is rather bizarre. As expected, we got too drunk to do much after a while which is just as well seeing as Twitter seemes to be broken or slow most of the time. Having used it for that experiment, I still see no real use for it. fairly pointless.
