No News in Manchester Evening News

It really does surprise me how little interest the MEN has in the Manchesters thriving digital sector. We have some world beating organisations round here, that fit under the very broad digital banner yet we hear so little about them in what purports to be our local paper. As an example, we just had the Big Chip Awards a couple of weeks ago which celebrates the excellence of our sector. This years awards were certainly the best to date with many more companies stepping up to the superb standards set in previous years by the likes of Code Computer Love and Stardotstar. I particular liked Fluid Creativity winning entry, Fish Fanatics. Great design with superb commercial understanding.

How much attention did the MEN give to the awards? Almost none. From what I have seen. Perhaps 3 column inches in the paper. (in which we do get mentioned, so thanks!) and nothing recent in the online version. One can only assume that the MEN has little interest in us. I think I’m going to be reading How Do from now on
