Project Description

Prestige is an international brand owned by Meyer Cookware Group. In the UK it’s best known for its quality pressure cookers and pans, but it manufactures and sells the complete range of kitchenware for the middle of the market.

Challenge

Prestige sells its products through its website as well as through online retailers and other stockists. Although it was functional, the site had not been upgraded for some time and was beginning to look tired. It wasn’t responsive, so risked dropping in mobile search rankings for not being mobile-friendly following Google’s Mobile Friendly updates.

The site also had quite a static feel, and even though Prestige is a thriving, exciting company, the site looked rather unexciting, listing products but having hardly any means of engagement with customers.

Prestige approached PushON to give the site a complete facelift and add extra features that would encourage customers to do more on-site, and of course to buy more of their products.

Solution

We started with a complete Magento Audit of the website, which identified many issues which we would be able to address with the re-design. Prestige enthusiastically attended  the Business Immersion Workshop, where our staff members who would have an involvement with the brand could get a feel for the company, its products and its ethos, all of which could be channelled back into the build.

We decided the best approach would be to build a brand new Magento Theme for the site that would make it responsive, give the site a fresh, vibrant look and allow social interaction and rich content. Along with the design and re-design, we went through all meta tags and page titles to create much more search friendly product descriptions.

The social element was created via the “Hob Hub”, a place where recipes could be posted and shared, alongside discussion and other feedback. We also created a “Pan Set Builder” where customers could choose pans from a range and make them into a bespoke pan set.

Results

The site instantly saw a rise in visibility thanks to the improvements in structure, SEO and responsive design. Prestige now has a thriving site which looks the part, and the company has thrown itself into keeping the Hob Hub busy with interesting content, which will only help the site’s performance over the longer term.
