Organic Search Marketing

The term ‘organic’ is used because it’s more of a natural, sustainable form of online marketing.  Rather than pay per click marketing, or banner advertising, where your budget finishes and the traffic to your site stops.

Organic marketing consist of a variety of techniques, for example:

  • Link building - links to your website from other sites can generate referrals, help search engines find you, and act as ‘votes’ so that search engines take your site seriously.  This can increase your search engine rankings - so you’ll come up higher in the listings for certain phrases.

  • Content generation & articles - the more unique content about your product, service or industry you have on your website, the more likely you will mention something that your potential customers are searching for.

  • Blogging - If you can give advice, useful tips or interesting comments about related news, people will come back to your site, and you may generate links from people who think your site is worth referring people to.

  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) - This may sound like an intangible dark art, but in basic terms it means ensuring your site is built, structured and labelled well so that search engines can find information on your site and understand what it is about.  You will then naturally receive more visitors because search engines will list your site in search results.

Although organic marketing takes time to effect your traffic and results - when you pay for the work to be done, you benefit from the results long after your budget runs out.

You will also be taken more seriously than if you just pay for placement, because people trust natural search engine results more than the sponsored listings.
