The Integration Process

Our certified Magento Solution Specialists will sit with all stakeholders to identify the integration requirements using a tried-and-tested framework. Once identified, we draw up a specification to ensure the project has clarity. The functional specification will define exactly what data is to be passed between which systems, and in which format. Alongside the specification we develop an RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed) chart to define roles and responsibilities, and manage the project through to completing within our project management system.

Quality Assurance

Once the Magento integration project has been delivered by the project team, our dedicated QA (quality assurance) team ensure the quality of the product. A complete integration test is completed, issues resolved, and then regression is carried out. Full reporting at every stage of the quality assurance process gives you comfort on the areas that have been tested.

ERP, OMS & WMS Integration

The most frequent request for integrations are for ERP (enterprise resource planning), OMS (order management systems) and WMS (warehouse management systems). Whilst many platforms have pre-existing integrations with Magento, many do not. Provided the system has a method for sending and receiving data (EDI or API) we can integrate them into Magento.

This depends on factors, such as 3rd party software having up to date documentation for the API, availability of 3rd party developers to support (time zones etc), complexity and data quality.

Where possible we’ll be able to determine a cost at requirements capture stage of the integration process. If we are unsure or have no experience with the platform we will offer time and materials towards costing the project. If we’re not confident we are the right agency to manage the integration we will, where possible, suggest alternative expertise you might consider.
